The most recent issue of Doctor Who Magazine revealed the results of the biggest fan survey ever conducted – announcing what DWM readers think are the best stories of the first 50 years!

Moff Award 1The winning story was the epic 50th Anniversary Special, broadcast on 23 November 2013, starring Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt, as three incarnations of the Doctor joining forces on the darkest day of his lives.
Steven Moffat, the writer of the story, commented, ‘Thank you. Thank you so very much. I am an ageing Doctor Who fan, and I can promise you that no other award has meant half as much to me as this one.’

TomMeanwhile, DWM readers also voted on their favourite Doctor – and the winner, with a convincing margin, was Tom Baker (Doctor Number Four), who celebrated his 80th birthday earlier in the year.
On receiving the award, a thrilled Tom Baker beamed, “Wow! Do you think this will advance my career?”
